What do I need to get started with a Box Target?
At minimum, you need The Box Target
If you’re practicing in a windy area, get the Box Target Weight. One is enough – it’s 5 pounds of solid metal and re-usable. It’s expensive for us to ship, so if you want to skip the cost, you can set large rocks on the ears if you want. No, we’re not kidding. It just takes longer and doesn’t look as badass.
The Full Size IPSC Add-On is completely optional, but it’s a great way to extend the life of your Box Target.
What about wind? Won’t this fall over in a light breeze?
The Box Target is good for up to 8MPH without needing to weigh it down.
Open the bottom flaps and flip up an edge to lock in the Box Target’s stability for up to 8MPH winds.
For winds between and including 8MPH to 13MPH, we recommend adding heavy objects to the flaps, like nearby rocks, or ideally the Box Target Weight.
How long does it take to set up The Box Target?
Your first time, it’ll probably take 3 minutes to set up The Box Target. People that use The Box Target often can set them up in about 30 seconds!
How long does it take to set up the IPSC Add-On??
After you’ve set up The Box Target, it takes less than 20 seconds to install the Full Size IPSC Add-On!
How long does it take to set up the Box Target Weight?
After you’ve set up The Box Target, it takes about 2 seconds to install the weight. You just fit it around the top and drop it!
Where are The Box Targets made and shipped from?
Box Targets and accessories are proudly manufactured in and shipped from the sunny state of Arizona!
Can I use The Box Target for other types of target practice?
Absolutely! We’ve had customers use The Box Target with:
- Pistols
- Rifles
- Shotguns
- Airsoft
- Slingshots
- Slings
- Throwing Knives
- Shuriken (“Throwing Stars”)
We don’t recommend The Box Target for use with:
- Bows and Crossbows (destroys the fletching)
- Throwing Axes (too heavy)
- Javelins / Throwing Spears (also probably too heavy)
- Other medieval weaponry:
- Catapults, ballistae, trebuchets
- Large Weapons:
- Cannons, mortars, tanks, etc.
